Welcome to Banter. By using the app, you agree to these Terms.

If you don’t agree, please don’t use Banter.

1. Eligibility

You must:

  • Be at least 13 years old (or 16 where required)

  • Have the legal ability to accept these Terms

2. What Banter Is (and Isn’t)

Banter:

  • Analyzes group chats you choose to upload

  • Uses AI to generate insights and entertainment

Banter is not:

  • A factual record keeper

  • Professional, legal, or psychological advice

  • Guaranteed to be accurate or complete

3. Your Responsibilities

You agree that:

  • You have the right to upload the chat data

  • You will not upload content you don’t have permission to use

  • You understand group chats may include third-party messages

4. License to Process Content

You grant Banter a limited, temporary license to:

  • Process your uploaded chat data

  • Generate insights you request

This license:

  • Exists only for providing the service

  • Ends when processing is complete

  • Does not allow Banter to store or reuse your chats

5. AI-Generated Content Disclaimer

AI outputs:

  • May be humorous, subjective, or imperfect

  • Should not be relied on as fact

  • Reflect patterns, not truths

You acknowledge that:

  • Interpretations may be wrong

  • Results may be exaggerated for fun

6. Group Chat & Third-Party Content

Banter:

  • Does not verify message authorship

  • Does not confirm consent from all participants

  • Is not responsible for disputes arising from shared results

7. Sharing & Screenshots

If you share Banter results:

  • You do so at your own discretion

  • You are responsible for consequences

  • Banter is not liable for downstream sharing

8. Prohibited Uses

You may not use Banter to:

  • Harass or embarrass others

  • Monitor people without permission

  • Conduct surveillance or profiling

  • Upload illegal or harmful content

9. Intellectual Property

Banter owns:

  • The app

  • Branding

  • Generated formats and designs

You own:

  • Your original content

  • Your decision to share outputs

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law:

  • Banter is provided “as is”

  • We are not liable for indirect or consequential damages

  • Our total liability is limited to amounts you paid us (if any)

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify Banter against claims arising from:

  • Content you upload

  • Your misuse of the app

  • Violations of these Terms

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access if:

  • These Terms are violated

  • Required by law or platform policies

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Canada, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

14. App Store & Google Play Requirements

If you downloaded Banter from:

  • Apple App Store: Apple is not responsible for the app or claims.

  • Google Play: Google is not responsible for the app or support.
